This is a 1964 USGS map that shows a remaining bank of Alverton coke ovens and the Mayfield ovens ( which we have included under Donnelly PA for now )

These coke ovens are on the upper side of Alverton and on the west side of the PRR tracks. They are not shown in the 1964 USGS map, but can be seen on the 1906 USGS map.
Nearby construction is claiming some of them. We could not find any sign of the eastern bank of ovens across the PRR tracks.
Here is what the eastern bank of coke ovens looks like today to the right of the PRR tracks.

The coke oven bank southeast of Alverton have been reclaimed although coal refuse ( 'bony ' ) is evident.

Here is a nice aerial of the Southmoreland Junior High School. The original building of East Huntingdon Twp. High School is evident.

Nice architectural trim work.
