This coal town was between Avonmore and Saltsburg on the Kiskiminetas River Indiana County. The 1905 USGS map shows a spur going back into Sulphur Run, but it is a separate narrow gauge coal mine railroad..

This photo from 1917 shows the coal loading on the lower tracks, the coal cars wheeled from the mine and a "Dinky" steam engine that pulled the coal cars on a narrow gauge railroad from Sulphur Run . Photo courtesy of the Richard D. Adams Collection

The original, lower PRR alignment is on the left, the remains of the coal loading area in the middle and the upper PRR alignment on the right. The upcoming pic of a bridge is taken in those trees in the center.

I find the rough construction either odd or very old. Then they laid concrete on top.

We are not quite sure what this structure is. Anyone ? For reference, you can see the PRR tracks in the background.

And here is the "Dinky" engine courtesy of the Virtual Coal Mining Museum.
