Ruffsdale to Feree to Tarrs to West Bethany to Alverton to Mayfield to Donnelly

 

The Coke Ovens of East Huntingdon Twp.

This day trip on a sunny March 24 2009 was prompted by the 1906 USGS map below. The number of coke oven sites within a small area was enticing. Plus, although not shown on the map, the West Penn Railways streetcars ran from Hunker to Ruffsdale to Tarrs to Alverton to Scottdale ( a future page ). Enjoy.
