Coke Ovens

 

 

The coke ovens were in Stickel Hollow on the Washington Run RR which later was owned by the P&LE RR. It appears that the rail bed became the 4-lane PA Route 51.

 

 

 

 

 

North of Star Junction, this looks to be where the coke ovens were. 4-lane Rte 51 is on the right, old 51 on the far right.

 

At Star Junction, old buildings remain.

 

 

South of Star Junction and jsut above the PA 51 / PA 201 interchange is where the southern bank of coke ovens were.
